Family Promise of Greater Helena Benefit

The Lost & Foundation held a fund-raising concert on Sunday, April 19, at the Red Lion Colonial Hotel Helena from 2 to 10 p.m.  The event raised more than $9,300 for Family Promise of Greater Helena.

Family Promise is a nonprofit human services agency devoted to assisting homeless families. In partnership with a network of 24 local churches and 949 volunteers, Family Promise provides support and resources to homeless families. Families have a place to stay, home-cooked meals, transportation, and an advocate to help them get back on their feet.

The agency also operates a Day Center. It has laundry, showers, kitchen, computers, phone, space for kids to nap, and more. Established in April 2011, Family Promise currently serves 3 families. Since the start, 30 families have graduated from the program, and 84% remain independent.

In 2014, the average length of stay for a family was 74 days. Working with the churches, Family Promise provided 814 nights of shelter. If you are a family in need, or know one, call 465-9467.

The benefit for Family Promise of Greater Helena featured three stages at in the Red Lion Colonial convention center and lounge.  Seventeen musical acts donated their time and talents to help Family Promise.

The Lost & Foundation is a nonprofit corporation established by Helena musicians. For 20 years, the Foundation has been staging regular events to benefit worthy causes. The group has sponsored 40 previous events and raised over $447,000.
