Benefit Helped with Recovery from Injuries

March 6, 2011

The Lost & Foundation’s Benefit Concert for Carroll Ann Day took place on March 6, 2011. With the community’s generous help, we raised over $15,000 for Carroll (Helena’s Golden Girl). Several merchants and other generous folks donated items for auction and raffle. Eight musical acts graced the stages at Miller’s Crossing and Blackfoot River Brewing. Karmadillo’s laid out a great buffet and contributed the proceeds to Carroll.

On January 21, 2011, Carroll slipped on the ice and broke her hip. The fracture was severe, requiring surgery to implant a titanium rod. Hospital time for this treatment exceeded four days. Carroll had no medical insurance, and the medical bills ran up quite a tab, along with other expenses to keep her business running and carry on with everyday life.

Carroll’s business, Golden Girl Antiques, is a fixture on Last Chance Gulch. It provides an outlet for several local collectors, both in selling and buying antique treasures. Carroll has fully recovered from her injury. Thanks to you, she was able to cover many of her bills. In addition, her recovery was aided by the loving generosity of the Helena community. Thank you!
